When we were in school, we made a Roman road for history. This picture shows the steps to making it. The layers are sand, pebbles, concrete, and larger smooth stones. There are actually some Roman roads that still exist today.
Also in school, we were studying poems. My favorite one out of them all was the last one that I wrote. It goes like this:
The Cat
A cat has a bat.
On the other side of that bat was a rat.
And that rat really likes to chat.
Two weeks ago we got a squirrel. The way we got the squirrel is by a trap that Miss Be let us use. We made a squirrel peanut butter sandwich that they would want to eat. The first time we tried to catch a squirrel we found out that if we put it on a place that makes the trap wiggly, the squirrels will not want to put their paws on the trap, because when they do it moves down. So we had to find a flat place. It was neat to see the squirrel in the trap; I never thought that I could do that! We were excited, and when we showed Dad, we let it go free.
I love you.

Oh, I'm so glad you let it go free! That's a relief--to me. :) You know, back in 2003 Grandpa and I were in London on a short-term mission trip. One of the places we went to see was the Tower of London. On the grounds there was a small section of the old Roman Road. Amazing, huh? Built 2,000 years earlier!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking today is your first day of ballet camp. I look forward to hearing about it.

Samantha,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what was going to happen to the squirrel too! Thanks for including what you did with it in the end.
From your pictures it looks like you are having some sunny days up there!
I look forward to reading about your ballet classes.
Hugs, Auntie Nicole
You sure have been doing some interesting things. I liked seeing how the Roman road was built. Because you actually did it, you'll remember it!! It reminds me of some of the roads and floors of buildings we saw in Israel that archaelogists were uncovering.
ReplyDeleteSo squirrels like peanut butter, huh? Who (or what) doesn't like peanut butter!! Maybe your squirrel thinks your trap was a nice restaurant where he can go for tasty food! Since he got to go free, maybe he'll be back for more!!
I love you, GramE(heart)
