The Good Snow Fort

This week we made a snow fort in a big hill that Mr. Chesley snow blowed. First, we dug a big hole in the side at the bottom. Then we curved the hole toward the other end of the snow hill by chipping away at the inside with e-tools (little shovels) and dragging the snow out with our hands. Now it is tall enough for me to stand and bend over inside!

The picture below of me sitting is not of me in the fort. It is on the side of the hill.

For Valentine's Day, I got a scarf that my Grandma knitted for me. My brother got one just the same, except it is green. It is very pretty and warm, and if you wrap it a certain way I can look like Little Red Riding Hood! I don't wear it when I'm playing rough outside or else it would get ruined. Instead, I will wear it when I'm on a walk and it is 20 or 30 degrees above.

  1. Samantha,

It was fun to see your new scarf. I sat next to grandma as she was busily working on Connor's on Super Bowl Sunday. She was worried she wouldn't get it done in time for Valentine's. You look pretty in the red color.

  2. Aha! My package did get there. :) The red scarf does look really nice on you, Samantha. I decided since I didn't know who sent me which color for Christmas, I would just let the two of you "sort it out" when you received my Valentine package. And I'm glad you're having so much fun with that snow fort. We haven't had enough snow here to make a snow fort next to a dollhouse. :)

  3. What a pretty scarf! I'll bet it keeps you warm when you go on walks!
That is amazing to be able to stand INSIDE of your snow cave. It must have taken a long time to dig out! I love to play in the snow and I miss having it. Do you ever make snow angels? Love, GramE(heart)
