Dance Concert

I have decided to make up a dance for a talent show. If I am the one making it up, then I am the choreographer. I'm going to tell you some of my moves. I am doing a twirl, ron de jon, curtsie, shuffle, "pick up the flowers", and arabesque. The song that I am dancing to is "Give Thanks". I chose this song because it is very graceful. I am very good at it.

The talent show is February 22nd. There will be many other types of performances, but I am doing a dance. It will be held at the school in Healy, and the person who is in charge of it is my music teacher from when I was going to Cantwell School. I can't wait to see her again!

Typing

For school this year I am learning where the keys are on the computer. My mom writes words on paper, and then I type the words on the keyboard. I know how to put my fingers in the right place. My favorite word to type is "ben"; I don't know why. I like typing!

Bones

Last week I did a science project on bones. I also sketched three parts of the Skeletal System: the leg (from knee to foot), skull, and hand (from wrist to fingers). This is my report:

Today I learned about the Skeletal System. A few purposes of this system are:
*to support the body's shape
*joints allow movement
*to protect many organs
*blood cell production

There are about 207 bones in a body. The Femur is the biggest. It is the top part of your leg. Without your skeleton you would be squishy.

Clay Jewelry

This year, I have been making clay earrings, clay beads, and pots with my mom. I got the clay from my Aunt Christine and Uncle DJ on Christmas. I was excited to find clay in the package!

I hardly have any clay left because I used most of it for pots. I only have green and a little bit of silver to make things with! Instead of making pots, I'm going to make sculptures out of the green and silver clay.

To make pots, I usually use two colors, as you can see in the picture above. I roll the clay out like a snake, and then put the two colors next to each other. I start coiling the clay and then when I want to make it go higher for the walls, I put the snakes on top of each other in a circle.

I also have made earrings and beads, by making the holes with a toothpick. I like to swirl colors together. We have to bake the clay for 15 minutes to harden it. This is a bracelet made out of some blue and purple beads that Connor created.
