All three things...

When we were in school, we made a Roman road for history.  This picture shows the steps to making it.  The layers are sand, pebbles, concrete, and larger smooth stones.  There are actually some Roman roads that still exist today.
Also in school, we were studying poems.  My favorite one out of them all was the last one that I wrote.  It goes like this:
The Cat
A cat has a bat.
On the other side of that bat was a rat.
And that rat really likes to chat.

Two weeks ago we got a squirrel.  The way we got the squirrel is by a trap that Miss Be let us use.  We made a squirrel peanut butter sandwich that they would want to eat.  The first time we tried to catch a squirrel we found out that if we put it on a place that makes the trap wiggly, the squirrels will not want to put their paws on the trap,  because when they do it moves down.  So we had to find a flat place.  It was neat to see the squirrel in the trap; I never thought that I could do that!  We were excited, and when we showed Dad, we let it go free.
I love you.

Ballet Dancing in June

Last month I got signed up for a ballet class in Healy.  It lasts for 3 hours, four afternoons in a row.  There will be a snack time, a short movie time, and I'll be learning ballet with other girls my age.  I feel happy that I'm doing it.  My GramE gave me two tutu's, and I can wear them to the class.  I am going to make sure to tell you more about it when it happens.

I also wanted to tell you that I am reading my Bible at night.  I am at chapter 8 in Genesis right now, and try to read every day before I go to sleep.  I've learned about all the families from Adam and Eve all the way to Noah.  I can't read all of the names.  (They have really wierd names.)  Chapter 8 is about Noah in the ark.  I've already gotten to the part where he is about to get in.  Noah was 600 years old when he was going to get in the ark.  I read that last night!  It's hard to imagine someone being 600 years old.

I love you.

A couple days ago we went on a four-wheeler ride.  We went super far on the Denali Hwy!  (about 6 miles)  Dad made a fire and Mom and I roasted marshmallows.  Then we went down to a creek that was very nearby.  Dad let us crouch through a "flood tube".  There was ice on the bottom, but we didn't slip.

On our way back home, we saw five caribou.  They ran across the road in front of us.  There were three, but after they ran across the road we saw five.  It was a nice day, but cold in the wind when we rode.
  I love you.

How I Ride My Bike

A few days ago I got out my bike and...  I can ride my bike!  Last year I tried and tried, but never got it.  This year on the third try, I could ride my bike.  All I did was think, "I can do this," and pedal fast, and keep pedaling.  I look straight ahead, and I also need to remember to control the handlebars.

I rode to the postoffce yesterday with Mom jogging behind me.  I stopped every few driveways because I either lost control, needed to rest, or Mom needed to rest.  I can break by pedaling backward.

It makes me feel excited to be able to ride my bike.  I am looking forward to be able to ride side-by-side next to Connor.
I love you.

We got puzzles!

This week we got eleven puzzles from Edna, an older lady that we visit. Today I'll be writing a thank you note to her. I made a princess one all by myself. Mom gave me suggestions of what to do. The most difficult part was Cinderella's dress. The next puzzle I am going to do is of Toy Story 3. Hope you are all having a nice day.

Dog Race Time

This weekend we went to Old Cantwell for Spring Rhondy and played lots of games.
But the most fun was on Sunday; it was a dogsled race! I got 5th place! My brother got 2nd. For our prizes we were given shirts that say "Cantwell Spring Rhondy".

My dogs' names were Muckluck and Timmy. They went really fast! If I ever have dogs when I grow up their names will be Timmy and Muckluck. (Mucklucks are a type of soft boot traditionally made out of reindeer or sealskin.)

I stood on two skiis attached to the dogsled. We followed a snowmachine to keep the dogs going. I finished the race in one minute and 40 seconds. It was really fun! For most of the time while I was there, I rode in the back of a sled attached to the snowmachine.

Test for Martial Arts

This week, we went to the school because Connor and I were having a martial arts test. Our teachers are Mr. Holum and Mr. Rucker. We have 9 students in our class now, including me and Connor. I am working the most on my form, and my favorite move is the spinning back-kick. We get a belt when we complete a rank. It was fun, and I got a rank higher! My new belt is yellow. I love you all.
